Residents of a Dutch city are on high alert after a deadly Green Mamba snake was reportedly spotted on the loose.
The snake, believed to be a juvenile, was first sighted in a park near the city center and has been on the move ever since. Wild animal experts, wildlife activists, and concerned citizens alike have all been searching for the slippery predator to ensure the safety of those living in the area.
Green Mamba snakes are highly venomous and have been known to cause paralysis and even death in extreme cases. While it is extremely rare for these reptiles to be found in the Netherlands, the individual snake has already caused some alarm due to its dangerous nature.
The city’s authorities are taking extra precautions to make sure that all residents and visitors are aware of the danger, increasing patrols and issuing warnings to anyone who might come close to the snake. In addition, many animal rescue organizations have sent out teams to capture the snake, however they have not yet been able to locate it effectively.
The Green Mamba is believed to have originated from a pet-owner in the area, who released their pet after being unable to care for it. Regardless of how it has ended up in Dutch city streets, caution is being preached to all citizens to ensure their safety and that of the animal.
Until the snake is safely captured, locals are being advised to use caution and stay away from it, as it can be particularly aggressive when provoked. The general consensus from wildlife experts is that the snake should be handled professionally by an experienced team once it is located.
Until then, it is essential that all residents and visitors remain alert as the Green Mamba continues to be on the move.
