Red Lobster’s recent unlimited shrimp promotion has been a huge hit—so much so, in fact, that the restaurant chain can no longer afford to keep it going.
In a post on their official Facebook page, Red Lobster said that the “all-you-can-eat shrimp” promotion “was too popular and too cheap.” This is despite the fact that customers only had to purchase a minimum item in order to get the offer.
The promotion, which ran for about two months, was seen as a win-win for both customers and the restaurant, with customers enjoying unlimited shrimp at an unbeatable price and Red Lobster cashing in on extra sales.
But the popularity of the offer proved to be the restaurant’s downfall, as customers flocked to the restaurant to cash in on the delicious shrimp. It appears that the popularity of the promotion led to Red Lobster no longer being able to afford it, as the chain was simply unable to keep up with the high demand.
It looks like Red Lobster won’t be offering its unlimited shrimp offer anytime soon, at least not at the same low price. But even though the offer has come to an end, it’s clear that the restaurant was able to generate plenty of buzz with the promotion, with people all over the world eager to enjoy Red Lobster’s popular seafood.
