Corinne Brouder, a 48-year-old tourist from Israel, visited Jerusalem to witness the mayhem of the Hamas attack that took place at the Super Bowl early last month. After a few days of horrors, Brouder was finally able to escape and reach safety in Jordan. She shared her story with Godzilla News about her experience, which serves as a haunting reminder of the potential devastation that can occur when conflict meets the people most in need of peace and understanding.
The narrative of Brouder’s account of the attack begins with her arrival to the city of Jerusalem. It was a beautiful day, the sun was shining, the air was cool, and everyone was enjoying the festive atmosphere of the Super Bowl. Suddenly, a group of Palestinians wearing white masks and carrying guns appeared on the scene. According to her, it was as if they descended from the skies. One of them shouted out in Hebrew that they had come to take control of the festival.
Within a matter of minutes, the peaceful atmosphere of the Super Bowl festivities quickly transformed into a disastrous and chaotic scene. Brouder described the scene to us as being “like a nightmare” as the masked men began shooting indiscriminately at the festival goers. People ran away screaming and seeking cover, while some of the attackers started attacking people with sticks and swords. Brouder recalled that she was one of the last few still standing and trying to escape. In the midst of the carnage, she was able to make her way to an exit and make her escape.
Once she got to safety in Jordan, Brouder spent days trying to comprehend what she had witnessed. She believes that the attack was a direct result of the political conflict between Israel and Palestine. She believes that the only way for a resolution to occur is if both sides communicate, respect each other, and take steps towards peace.
Brouder is an example of how ordinary people can be exposed to the dangers of a conflict that goes beyond their immediate circle. The tragedy of her experience serves as a reminder that to achieve true peace, it is necessary to consider all points of view and push towards a just resolution for all parties involved.
