The terrorist organization Hamas has recently released 280 hostages, much to the joy of their families and the many people around the world hoping for their freedom.
However, according to President Donald Trump, the recent deal was a bad one as there were no US citizens among the hostages released.
Trump took to Twitter to express his discontent with American leadership in the matter. He stated that “Our leadership should have done more to ensure that US citizens were among those hostages freed.”
He further criticized the US leadership, calling it “incompetent” and “inadequate” for allowing such a deal to occur.
The President even went as far as to demand the US “take a stand” and “exert more pressure” on the terrorist groups that are holding American hostages.
It is unclear what exactly led to the lack of US citizens in the recent hostage release. However, it is clear that President Trump is not pleased with the lack of progress in this matter.
It remains to be seen whether or not Trump’s criticisms will lead to any sort of changes in the US’s policy or actions when it comes to dealing with terrorist organizations and their hostages in the future.
Nevertheless, the President is determined to make sure that US citizens are no longer forgotten in negotiations and that their safety is at the forefront of any decision made by the government.
