As per the recent Fox News Poll, President Donald Trump is dominating his Democratic challenger Joe Biden among voters aged under 30.
This news comes as no surprise, considering Trump’s long history of tapping into the youths’ sentiments. His use of social media platforms like Twitter and various other online resources to directly communicate with these young voters form a significant portion of his political strategy.
Trump’s message to the under-30 demographic has been resonating well with them. Many of the younger generation view Trump as an unconventional and disruptive force in American politics. Trump’s passionate and direct approach to tackling issues and engaging with the youth has often earned him praise from them.
Trump’s stances on a number of topics continue to attract the younger voters towards him. His positions on freedom of speech, low taxes, and conservative views on abortion and same-sex marriages, recieve widespread support from the younger generation.
Joe Biden, on the other hand, has focused less on getting the younger contingent’s approval. He has mostly relied on traditional media outlets like television and print to spread his message. He has also tried to gain traction by attacking the flaws in Trump’s policies, rather than pointing out what he wishes to accomplish himself.
The Fox News poll shows Trump leading Biden by 13 points among the voters age 30 and younger, with 50 percent of the support. This result is quite a shift considering that in 2016, Trump lost against Clinton among young voters 45 percent to 50 percent.
Perhaps it would have been wiser for Biden to invest more of his campaign resources in getting the approval of the under-30 segment of the voting population. This is a valuable lesson that Biden must remember in the upcoming elections.
As of now, it looks like Trump’s strategy to court the younger voters is paying off, and with the under-30 contingent leaning in his favor, his chances of re-election look good. We can only wait to see what happens come November.
