Honda has issued a recall of more than 2.5 million cars because of a defect in the fuel pump. The recall is among the largest in the company’s history and affects vehicles in the United States, Europe and Japan.
Honda released a statement mentioning that this is due to “a high temperature in the pump which could cause a malfunction and lead to a stall without warning and increased risk of a crash.” The recall includes Honda’s popular models such as Civic, CR-V, Odyssey, Pilot, Ridgeline and Accord.
The fuel pump issue has been linked to four accidents in the U.S. and two in Japan, however there are no reports of injuries yet. Honda is offering free repairs to all affected vehicles and has set up a website to help customers search for their vehicles and get the necessary information.
Honda is going above and beyond to address this issue and ensure customers are able to get the necessary repairs as soon as possible. The company is taking customer safety seriously and making sure they provide accurate, reliable information needed to correct the problem.
The recall is still quite fresh and many are not aware of the issue yet. Honda is expected to send out notices to affected customers soon, so we can expect to hear more about this soon. If you are driving a Honda, please regularly check your car and make sure it is safe.
